Sam Everingham

I grew up and live in Sydney . In recent years, I have developed a second career bringing to life aspects of Australia’s forgotten history and eccentric personalities, mastering the skills of story-telling to engage  audiences.

I  write and produce commissioned histories and life-stories for families keen to capture their memories for future generations. These include family history, business history and combinations of the two. Some clients choose book length narratives, others  opt for a more modest memento.

I can be booked to give presentations to local historical societies, Probus clubs, book clubs, conferences and writing workshops for a fee to cover travel costs and my time.

My published works include Wild Ride – The Rise & Fall of Cobb & Co (Penguin 2007) which has already sold well over 7500 copies and was shortlisted for the Blake Dawson Prize for Business Literature.

Gordon Barton – Australia’s Maverick Entrepreneur (Allen & Unwin, 2009) was also shortlisted for the Blake Dawson Prize for Business Literature.

Madam Lash –  is a recent  biography of Sydney artist, courtesan and dominatrix Gretel Pinniger (Allen & Unwin, 2010).
